|Title||NOW POSTPONED - HS2 Archaeology: Discoveries along the line Year 2|
I am sorry to say that the HS2 Archaeology Conference scheduled for Saturday 23 November has had to be POSTPONED due to the General Election. The Bucks Archaeological Society has received the following eMail from HS2 Limited:
'I am sorry for the short notice, but HS2 Ltd, in this case represented by our contractor Fusion, is unable to take part in the BAS conference organised for 23/11, as it falls during the pre-election period (purdah). As a public body, HS2 Ltd (and by extension our supply chain) is subject to strict rules in the lead up to the general election and after careful review we have been advised that attendance would breach those rules.'Come and hear HS2's archaeologists describe the finds from their excavation sites along the route of the planned high-speed rail line, across
Buckinghamshire and into Warwickshire. Discoveries from the Mesolithic era to Roman settlements, Anglo-Saxon halls and medieval burials.
HALF-DAY CONFERENCE: Saturday 23 November, 1.30pm-5pm in Winslow Public Hall
Winslow Public Hall, Elmsfield Gate, Winslow MK18 3JG. Open to all, admission £3 on the day. Doors open 1pm. Adjacent parking.
